Brenda Morrison is a leader, innovator and a fierce community advocate who believes “In getting & gaining you become successful, but only in serving do you become significant.”
Throughout her life stages, she has used adversity to grow and develop into a new iteration of herself. Brenda graduated from Florida International University, with a Bachelor’s in Political Science, in 2017. Along with being of service to her community, Brenda is passionate about fostering opportunities to current and future generations of youth and young professional with opportunities for professional and personal development.

With 5 years of experience, Brenda has volunteered on local and state electoral campaigns. During the campaigns, Brenda served as a volunteer coordinator; researched and formed policy platforms and connected with many voters through canvassing efforts. Benda then went on to intern for State Representative Shevrin Jones which allowed her to conduct policy research; assist constituents with their needs and concerns. Brenda also gave her time, talent and treasure to the Urban League of Broward County, by being involved in their Young Professionals Network.

During her time in YPN, Brenda has served as the Secretary and she currently serves as the Vice President of Policy and Procedure. Within this role, Brenda oversees the civic engagement committee that aims to increase voter engagement and education to the community, During her time in YPN, Brenda has developed and fostered relationships with other community organizations, key community stakeholders, sponsors and she has grown more grounded in her passion to serve her community. Upon graduating from FIU, Brenda served as an aide to U.S. Senator Bill Nelson in his Broward County Office and she completed the National Urban League Washington Bureau Advocacy Certification Program, geared towards empowering young professionals to become better advocates for their communities.

Brenda’s accolades include being recognized by Legacy Magazine’s “40 Under 40” and most recently, a “Select Distinguished” Young Professional, by the National Urban League Young Professionals. Brenda serves as the Secretary for the Women of Color Empowerment Institute Advocacy Committee, Member of the Citizens Advisory Committee for the Broward MPO and Committee Member on the National Urban League Young Professionals Advocacy Committee. Brenda is driven by faith and conviction in God and as a result, she has grown into a hard-working civic leader with vision and purpose for herself and her community. She wishes to continue her education in law, with a focus on electoral and political law.
